If you are looking for Cambridge International AS and A Level revision notes, you have come to the right place. I scored 4A* for my AS Level in October 2013 and for my A Level in May 2014. Here, I am sharing the notes I used when revising for my examinations, with some changes made to ensure that the notes match the latest syllabus. These notes are almost entirely complete and accurate, but there is no 100% guarantee.
It is intended for students who are taking the Cambridge International AS and A Level. It is also intended for students taking the Brunei-Cambridge AS and A Level. Parts of it may also be relevant for AS and A Level from other examination boards, STPM and UEC-SML. Feel free to share the notes with your friends.

WHEN WILL U POST THE 2014 MAY JUNE PAPERS
ReplyDeleteI will post the CIE May/June 2014 papers when they are available on the internet. Usually they will be available around the date when the examination results is released, which is 12 August 2014.
DeleteCan you please upload your worked P5 in Chemistry and Physics respectively so that we can get an idea how to solve?
Deleteyes please upload your worked P5 in chemistry and biology as well...do you also have any tips in answering P5 questions as well?
DeleteSorry, but I do not have any worked questions.
DeleteTips for Chemistry, Physics and Biology, including Paper 5, are already available on this blog:

ReplyDeleteHi
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing all these great tips. I am currently sitting for my AS examination and I would like to know how many marks must we get for papers 1,2,3 to get 90++ for chemistry, maths and physics in AS. I need a 90++ for these subjects in order to get an A* in A2 because A2 is even harder than AS.
Thanks for your efforts. Can you Update some notes and books references for Math Please
ReplyDeleteSorry, I do not have notes for Mathematics. However, I listed the recommended reference books for Mathematics here:
Deletehttp://daniellimjj.blogspot.com/2014/10/tips-for-cie-as-and-level-mathematics.html
do you have tips for chemistry p3??

the a2 bio notes link isn't working ..can u post another one I can use
ReplyDeletethanks
I test all the links regularly and they are working. Please try again. If it still does not work, try using a different browser or device.
DeleteHey! Your notes are amazing. You're a really nice guy may god bless you every success in life. I wanted to ask that how many past papers, along with all the study, one must do to achieve A*s in phy, chem and bio? Like how many papers did you solve in total and of which years?
ReplyDeleteIt is difficult to say how many past papers you have to do to score A*, but basically the more you do, the better you are. I did all past papers from 2002 to 2013 for AS. However, I only did the past papers from 2002 to 2008 for A2 because I did not have enough time before the exam to do the papers from 2009 onwards.
DeleteNot sure about A levels since I'm giving them this year. But for AS I did all the past papers from 2007 to 2012. I managed to get an A in all my subjects with that. Hope that helps!
Deletehello, the names in organic chem a2 are not in IUPAC form and are old and i dont think can be used in cie exams,i am not quite sure but i saw them in condensation polymerisation chapter so please can u tell me if it can be used
ReplyDeleteFrom what I know, almost all of the terms in my notes can be used in AS and A Level examinations up to November 2015.
DeleteJust wanted to thank you for these notes, they are amazing. We don't have proper CIE teachers here and these notes are a lifesaver. It's very kind of you to upload them online for everyone to use!
ReplyDeleteExcuse me if i am intrusive, but did you write these notes yourself or are they your teacher's? And about Biology in chapter E Cell and Nuclear Division you( or your teacher) took all of it from a textbook so are your notes complete or should i refer to textbooks?
ReplyDeleteFor the Chemistry and Physics notes, all of them are provided by my teachers. For Biology, the typed parts of the notes are my teachers' while the written parts of the notes are mine. The Biology textbook is not complete, but for Chapter E, I think that it is quite complete, and since my teacher did not give us any notes, I decided to take the textbook as the notes for this chapter. My notes for all subjects are almost but not 100% complete.
DeleteBut how can the Biology textbook be not complete? Because it says at the back of the book that it matches the syllabus and that it is endorsed by the CIE for use with their examinations. Same goes for Physics and Chemistry.
DeleteBut how can the Biology textbook be not complete? Because it says at the back of the book that it matches the syllabus and that it is endorsed by the CIE for use with their examinations. Same goes for Physics and Chemistry.
DeleteEndorsed by CIE does not mean that a textbook is complete. If you compare the textbook with my notes, you will notice that the textbook lacks some information that is found in my notes.
Deletehello, if i am planning to study a lvl in july 2015, are these notes suitable for me? thanks
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteI suppose you will be taking AS in May 2016 and A2 in October 2016. Therefore, all these notes may not be suitable for you, because there are major changes to the A Level syllabus starting from 2016.
Deletehi what do I do if the notes are not downloading as they are to big of a file
ReplyDeleteAs I have stated above, you should use internet connection that is fast and stable. I would also recommend that you use Mozilla Firefox on your computer when downloading.
DeleteThan you for sharing your notes. These are really amazing and quite helpful.I am just a bit curious to know what grades did you get in A levels using these notes. Thanks again.
ReplyDeleteI got 4A* in A Level for Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology.
Deletethat's awesome, congrats dude, i'll be sitting for my as level examinations this oct 15, i have about 7 weeks till then, and i dont concentarte in class for some reasons, what should i do now? should i just do past years or i should cover the whole syllabus before doing that? thank you so much for your time man :) cheers
DeleteYou have to change your habit of not concentrating in class. Study the whole syllabus first, then do the past year questions.
DeleteThank you for replying to my comment. Those are some really great grades that pretty much everyone wants. So, if you have time, can you please provide me with a short tip on how to answer questions in A level that can bring highest mark possible?Other tips on mastering exam technique will be greatly appreciated as well.Thank you for using your time on noticing my comment and reading it.Greatly appreciate your help.
ReplyDeleteGOD BLESS.. Thank you does not hold a place here! Really accurate and covers the whole syllabus!!
ReplyDeleteThanks man you are a life savior
ReplyDeleteThank You!!
ReplyDeleteSorry for this question, but there isn't any virus is there? My computer can't scan it for any virus, so I'm just double checking before I download it. Thanks in advance though. Been looking for the notes for some time as it is. Do you, by any chance, have notes for Further Maths? Thanks :D
ReplyDeleteNvm, just finished reading your statement bout not having notes for other subjects. :D
Deletethx man :D
ReplyDeletehi! Im so happy that i came across your blog!! I wished i have came across it sooner since I'll be sitting for my A2 this year in less than 2 months time. God bless you for sharing all these!!
ReplyDeleteHi , I am going to take the AS examination by October 2015, is it the A2 notes suitable to use for May 2016?
ReplyDeleteYou can still use my AS notes since you are taking AS in October 2015. However, the May 2016 examination series will be based on the new syllabus, which introduces several new topics and also removes several existing topics. Since all my notes are based on the existing syllabus, my A2 notes are no longer sufficient for you, but you may still refer to my A2 notes for some topics that remain unchanged. You can get the 2016 syllabus from the CIE website. In the 2016 syllabus, it also shows all the changes from the existing syllabus.
Deleteok,thank you very much =)
DeleteHey I'm also from Taylor's College. I just found out your site and is your Physics teacher Mr Selva? And is your Chemistry teacher Mr. Andrew? Anyways thanks for the notes as its organized based on the chapter. Thanks a lot !
ReplyDeleteMy Physics teacher was Mr Selva while my Chemistry teacher was Mr Ooi Tee Eong.
DeleteHello, what program do you use to open these files after you've extracted them using WinRAR? pls reply asap, thank you :)
ReplyDeleteIt depends on the type of the file. For PDF files, use Adobe Reader. For PPT or PPTX files, use Microsoft PowerPoint. For DOC files, use Microsoft Word.
Deletehi, will it be too much if i ask for your O LEVEL notes, it will help my brother. i am using yours for my AS.
ReplyDeleteSorry, but I do not have notes for O Level or IGCSE, because I did not take O Level or IGCSE previously.
DeleteTHANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THE USEFUL AND COMPREHENSIVE NOTES..CHEERS
ReplyDeleteWill you upload notes for 2016 syllabus?
ReplyDeleteI will definitely upload the notes for the 2016 syllabus if it is possible to do so. However, the problem is that I am no longer studying A Level now, so I do not have the notes for the 2016 syllabus. The notes that I have uploaded above for the 2015 syllabus are not created by me, instead, they are the notes provided by my teachers when I was studying A Level and the notes that I took down in class. I can try to get the notes from my juniors who are studying the 2016 syllabus, but this is difficult because I know very few of them, and even if I managed to get the notes, I have to ensure that they are good enough to be used by every one. This process takes time, but I am quite busy because I am now studying Medicine at university. Therefore, I am sorry that I cannot guarantee anything about this.
Deletehey man just wondering how have you been doing?is it tough doing medicine?
ReplyDeleteThe assignments are quite difficult and it is stressful to complete them. Other than that, Medicine is alright and I find it interesting.
Deletehey bro just wanted to ask something.
ReplyDeleteI read all your notes and did past papers from O/N 2002 to M/J 2015
so can u advice me what else should i do now ? im giving biology and chemistry AS this october session .. so what can u advice me to get an A ...because i NEED to get an A this time
can you please give me computer notes AS level ............ and if not suggest any reliable sources ???
ReplyDeleteI do not have notes for Computer Science, and I do not know any sources where you can get the notes. Sorry about that.
Deletehttp://www.zakonweb.com His notes are sorta gud.......
Deleteznotes.org
Deletei'm writing for my ALs on 2016. could i use the same notes? :/
ReplyDeleteFor AS, the notes based on the 2016 syllabus is available now, please download them from the links above. For A2, the notes based on the 2016 syllabus will not be available until June 2016 at the earliest, sorry about that.
DeleteStarting from 2016 onwards, there are major changes to the syllabus, where several new topics are introduced and several existing topics are removed. Therefore, the notes based on the 2015 syllabus will not be sufficient for you, although you can still use them for some topics that remain unchanged.
hi thanks for your help where do download your notes thanks
DeleteDaniel, you have no idea how thankful I am of you for posting the notes for the syllabus from 2016 onwards! Really really appreciate it man! Thank you so so much! :D
ReplyDeleteyo where do I download them
DeleteFor AS level, you can download the notes for the 2016 syllabus using the links in the post above. For A2 level, the notes for the 2016 syllabus is not yet available currently and will only be available in June 2016.
DeleteHi there, you're notes are amazing. Have you compiled these notes just using the main ideas or have you included every point mentioned in the syllabus for the sciences?
ReplyDeleteThese notes are mainly created by my teachers, not me. They included most, if not all, of the points in the syllabus.
DeleteThank you for your notes. They are extremely helpful!
ReplyDeleteI would like to get classified past papers according to topics from each subject. I get past papers in general from xtremepapers.com, but where can I get questions that are classified?
ReplyDeletemwana i we are here in mbarara university killing the books seriously.

ReplyDeleteHi, I hope you are doing well
ReplyDeleteI wanted to ask if you are going to upload A2 Chemistry notes for 2016 May/June syllabus? Thanks.
I will be uploading them in June 2016, which is during my long break. Currently, I am studying 2nd year of Medicine in university and I am quite busy, so I won't be able to upload them before June 2016. Sorry about that.
DeleteHey,
ReplyDeleteI really appreciate your site and hard work.Thank you so much for your help.I wanted to ask would it be okay to ask you doubts of chemistry as such in past papers?
Thank you and god bless,
Hello Daniel, thanks for sharing ! Just wanna ask if I were to be a student of March intake, will it be be okay to use your 2016,17,18 version of AS notes? and when will your A2 notes be arriving? Thanks
ReplyDeleteYes, the AS notes based on the 2016-2018 syllabus are appropriate for you. As for the A2 notes, I will be uploading them in June 2016, which is during my long break. Currently, I am studying 2nd year of Medicine in university and I am quite busy, so I won't be able to upload them before June 2016. Sorry about that.

ReplyDeleteI will be uploading them only in June 2016, which is during my long break. Currently, I am studying 2nd year of Medicine in university and I am quite busy, so I won't be able to upload them before June 2016. Sorry about that.
Deletehow is MBBS course in Newcastle? Is it good?
ReplyDeleteYes, the teaching and facilities here are excellent.
DeleteThanks for all the notes but still I wanted you to recommend me reference books for biology and chemistry.

ReplyDeleteDaniel I teach AS in Rwanda but I wanna get detailed solutions To paper 3, well explained is it possible?????
ReplyDeleteHi, I manage to download the biology notes on my iPad but can't seem to download the chemi and physics 2016-2018. Can you teach me an alternative way to get enough? Thanks
ReplyDeleteI manage to get them. Thanks for the notes though! :)
DeleteHappy birthday Daniel!
ReplyDeleteThanks! :)
Deleteheyy
ReplyDeletei would like to ask that on ur immunity notes what did u write on side spaces like is that answers to the questions listed or notes ... and plus u did not post notes for new changes made iin 2016 syllabus
Everything that is written in the side spaces are notes, they are not answers to the questions. All those questions are taken from past year papers, you can refer to the mark schemes for the answers. The syllabus which you can obtain from CIE's website does indicate the new changes in the 2016 syllabus.
DeleteHai, i had problem with my p1 chemistry. I got strong marks for p2 but not p1. What should i do? Do u have any tips to score well in p3?
ReplyDeleteTo score well in Paper 1, you have to fully understand every topic. You should also do all the past year questions for Paper 1 starting from 2003 until 2015.
DeleteTips for Paper 3 are already available on this blog:
http://daniellimjj.blogspot.com/2014/10/tips-for-cie-as-and-level-chemistry.html
hello would u maybe have any solved A2 level chemistry paper 5 samples? the markscheme isnt clear at all and id love to see some solved sample papers with answers in full form
ReplyDeleteSorry, but I do not have any solved questions.
DeleteHi Daniel, can u kindly share the link to download the past year paper with marking scheme for AS and A2 level(Bio, Chem, Physics and math) ?
ReplyDeletePast year questions and mark schemes are available at the following website:
Deletehttp://papers.xtremepapers.com/CIE/Cambridge%20International%20A%20and%20AS%20Level/
However, the website may be down sometimes. If the website does not work, try searching on Google for past year questions and mark schemes.
Question papers and mark schemes for 2013 and 2014 are also available on this blog:

Absolutely BRILLIANT AS level Bio notes. Thank you SO much for this great effort of yours. I am a teacher and find these notes extremely helpful in my planning.
ReplyDeleteHie...Do you have Maths notes by any chance
ReplyDeleteSorry, I do not have notes for Maths.

ReplyDeleteWow your notes are Amazing!
ReplyDeleteI had a question... I cant seem to find the entire
"Hess's law, including born Haber-cycles" part from Chapter- Chemical Energetics for AS level. Can you help me with that?
Sorry, after so long, now only I realised that I accidentally left that part out. I will add that to the notes soon. Thanks for informing me about that.
Deletehaha Thank-you so much for the notes. Its really helping me alot :)
Delete(also see the Entropy changes & Gibbs free energy change part) Thank-you again for replying! (^~^)
I am a self-study student and your notes have been really helping.
When will you add and upload the change?
DeleteHello Daniel...

ReplyDeleteSimply the best. Extremely helpful.

ReplyDeleteHello. You mentioned about the notes for qualitative analysis may i know where is it? I can't find it in your AS notes
ReplyDeletePlease look at the A level Chemistry syllabus from CIE and 'Practical skills' in my notes.
DeleteRecently registered for IGCSE development certificate(CHEMISTRY A-Levels) but can't seem to fully understand the necessary steps to be taken . . .i have sent a mail to their help desk but still can't comprehend their response(as i have downloaded all module document and materials). . .would appreciate ur help and assistance. . .THNX
ReplyDeleteHello Daniel...
ReplyDeleteDid you study for paper 4 bio only from your notes or did you do the a level biology Application booklet?
Also how did you prepare for paper 5
Looking forward for your reply.
God bless you!
For Paper 4, I only revise my notes, then I do a lot of past year questions. I do not use the Application booklet. For Paper 5, I look through all the past year questions and mark schemes.
DeleteThank you after getting straight e's in AS ... hoping to get good grades in A2. Thanks for these notes anyways... Would be thankful if u could help me about how to prepare for the exams...
ReplyDeleteWell this what i did an di got straight As in AS
Deleteerm
follow daniel's notes and your class teachers notes/coursebook
keep the syllabus for each of your subjects at all times
for subjects like bio i strictly follow the syllabus at all times during my study of a chapter, ticking everything i get done
for chemsitry and physics i check i have covered evverything from the syllabus after each chapter
I use daniels notes, coursebooks/teachers notes, and the following websites: for physcis ..physcis doubts and for chem..chemguide..
you must revise through each chapter throughly and make sure at the end of each chapter u do th emost recent past paper qs related with that chapter..so suppose u study unit 12 of bio..do atleast 15 qs with respect to that chapter.esp for chapters u found the hardest.and keep revising over chapters, learning the answers to markscheme asnwers etc
it depends on how much time u havve..i am giving A2 in the oct nov session so i have only two months to go..so for me its just getting the courses done and doing as many past papers as i can..
You have to study on a regular basis and be resilient..dont give in and keep going
hope this helps
Did you make your own notes from reading the textbook? That's what some of my classmate seems to be doing, but I find that tedious and a waste of time.
DeleteNo not really I don't make notes from the textbook I just learn directly coz I never had time to make notes
Deletehello Daniel...
ReplyDeleteI wanted to request for the answers to the questions in your notes, your notes are super!!!
The questions in my notes are taken from past year papers. You can refer to the mark schemes.
DeleteThank you for the notes.Your work is really appreciated.
ReplyDeleteHello Daniel.I just want to ask you if your note is 100% complete because I feel like it's missing a few stuff.
ReplyDeleteLike the cathode ray experiment in chapter 2.I was just scheming through the text book and your notes and comparing them.I plan to use your notes as I find your notes to be better than my school one but I'm worry that it's missing 1 or 2 stuff from the textbook that is vital in the exam
My notes are almost but not 100% complete, so it is possible to be missing a few stuff. Reading and fully understanding everything in my notes and doing a lot of past year questions should be enough for you to get excellent results in the examination.
Deletethanks man for saving my life . would you please help me little more by doing one more favor (umm appropriate website for general paper *8004* actually i need examples and data ) asap mate because i do have my board exam upcoming m/j. thanks for everything\
ReplyDeleteSorry, I am unable to provide any help for General Paper because I never took this subject in A Level.
Deletehello Daniel! Thank you so so so much for all the effort you put into helping us! I have a question to ask you: I have been usng your A2 Chemistry notes to study for my retake (this May/June) and I noticed that some chapters have handwritten notes before the textbook pages and some don't have any handwritten notes. Does this mean that you think that reading the textbook would be enough before I do the PYQ?
ReplyDeleteIt is probably not enough to just read the textbook because it is not complete. The textbook pages that I included in my notes are those that are good. You should just read everything in my notes, whether it is handwritten, typed or textbook pages.
DeleteWhen will May/June 2017 Specimen paper get updated??
ReplyDeleteThere will probably be no specimen paper for 2017 because the syllabus and format of question paper are the same for 2016 and 2017.
DeleteOhw thanks!
Deletearent your notes too detailed or do we have to know all of it ?
ReplyDeletewill i be able to get A in as bio if i read everything from your notes and do at least last 5 years past paper questions ?
ReplyDeleteApart from reading, you also need to make sure that you fully understand everything in my notes. Doing the questions for just the last 5 years is not sufficient, you need to do the questions at least from 2007 to 2016.
Deletewhat if you just memorize everything ? lol and do the past questions frm 2007 to 2016
DeleteIt will not work if you just memorise. You must fully understand everything, this is very important.
Deleteone more question bro !! do you know what will happen if i get A in paper 1 and 2 but like D or E in paper 3 ??? im talking about AS BIO HERE !! thanks for your help ! :))
DeleteIt depends on your total raw marks for all 3 papers. You will probably get grade B for AS Biology.
DeleteHello Daniel. Do you know where we can obtain the March 2017 paper from the Indian Board for chem, bio, phy and maths? Dynamic papers hasnt uploaded them yet..wondering if u know any links to them.
ReplyDeleteDear Daniel..I need AS P1 2015 & 2016 detailed solutions.I will be very thankful to u.
ReplyDeleteSorry, but I do not have any detailed solutions.
DeleteFor Physics
ReplyDeleteafter understanding all of you AS physics notes will i be able to solve P1 ??? and if i dont manage to solve any question how will i find out how to solve it coz the ms only shows the answer
ReplyDeleteIf you fully understand everything in my notes and know how to apply them, you should be able to answer almost every question in Paper 1.
DeleteHi Daniel. Usually the grade threshold for bio a level is 189-194+ for A*. I got 116 for AS, with a PUM of 93 for bio. Assuming the threshold is 194,does that mean I need 78 marks for an A* in A2? Which means if I score around 70 in P4 and 24 in P5, my raw marks will be 210. does it work that way?
ReplyDeleteYes, you are right.
DeleteThank you for your reply. Good luck for your medicine course!
DeleteHi Daniel. May I ask if a level notes for phy, bio, chem and maths are still relevant to the MBBS course? Because im taking medicine as well. If they are then I will keep them instead of selling the notes. Thanks :)
ReplyDeleteSome of the A Level Biology topics are relevant to the MBBS course. None of the topics in Chemistry, Physics and Maths are relevant.

Deletethe notes on homeostasis is legit the book?
ReplyDeleteI'm confused whether to revise for monoclonal antibodies that was moved into AS topic and now I'm doing past year for A2. Have you encountered AS topic in A2 paper when you are sitting for A2?
ReplyDeleteA2 papers generally do not test on AS topics. Sometimes, one or two parts of question may test directly on AS topics, but no more than that. However, please note that in order to understand A2 topics, knowledge of AS topics may be required.
DeleteThanks for e-book mathematics.
